Job Summary:

We invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the associate or full professor level. The successful candidate will join the Biochemistry & Molecular Biology department as a SUNY Empire Innovation Program (EIP) Scholar (suny.edu/eip/) and will complement recent and ongoing departmental hires as part of a coordinated expansion effort. This EIP initiative is aimed at attracting investigators who are developing or implementing new technologies with applications to human health and disease in the areas of molecular imaging, including super-resolution and single-molecule optical microscopy, cryo-EM, and biosensors. The appointment will carry the title of Associate Professor or Professor of Empire Innovation, as well as Biochemistry & Molecular Biology.

 

The successful candidate will maintain a well-funded research program that addresses molecular mechanisms of disease and synergizes with existing areas of strength in the Biochemistry & Molecular Biology program, including structural biology, epigenetics, gene expression, genome stability, organelle biology, vision research, and cellular dynamics. The applicant will also contribute to graduate and medical teaching. Further information about the department can be found at upstate.edu/biochem.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants should have a PhD or equivalent, current federal funding, and a strong publication record.
