Job Summary:

The Full-Time Advanced Practice Provider will provide care to patients at the Breast Care Center at 550 Harrison Center and possibly at WellSpring Breast Care Center at Upstate Community Campus.  The Advanced Practice Provider will provide comprehensive breast care as well as work collaboratively with the high-risk breast and endocrinology surgery services, in the same department. 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Providing expert level clinical care & coordination of care via a full range of services that will improve quality of patient care.
  • Assessing & evaluating patients.
  • Ordering appropriate laboratory testing & diagnostic studies.
  • Arranging for referrals, testing, consultation & therapeutic services.
  • Maintaining outstanding relationships with families, referring physicians & all members of the health care team.

As an SUNY Upstate APP, you will be an integral member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, demonstrating professionalism, leadership, and a commitment to Upstate’s mission, vision, and values, while adhering to all institutional policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (or graduated from an accredited PA program).

NYS Licensed/Registered NP or PA.

Current National Certification consistent to the clinical practice. 

Have a NPI number and be Medicare enrolled with a Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) (or eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire.

CPR-BLS Certification required at the time of appointment.

Must successfully pass pre-employment and credentialing clearances. 

Preferred Qualifications:

2-3 years of APP experience preferred. 

Surgical, oncology, and/or women’s health experience preferred.

Work Days:

Monday through Friday days, no holidays, weekends, or call
