Job Summary:
Proficient in casting and splinting applications and associated procedures
- Proficient in dressing changes, associated applications and suture removal
- Consistently orders and manages casting supplies to ensure adequate inventory
- Educate patients and caregivers of specific care related to casts, splints, dressings, and durable medical equipment
- Maintain appropriate levels of casting and splinting supplies
- Fit patients and give appropriate instruction on a variety of DME
- Familiar and proficient in EPIC EMR and BREG DME Dispensing software systems
- Knowledgeable and familiar with billing and insurance procedures and is capable of anticipating doctors and patients needs while performing on a multi task level
- Assists patient care staff with rooming patients and performing vital signs as needed and available
- Facilitates patient flow by coordinating patient care in a timely and efficient manner
- Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with all HIPAA rules and regulations
- Available for Ortho Now evening coverage as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree, NYS Athletic Trainer license and certification by the BOC (Board of Certification). Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required.
