Job Summary:

Perform specimen receiving for laboratory specimens using LIS and HIS for order accessioning, labeling, delivery, and report preparation; assist with problem resolution and follow-up with other UH departments and referring physicians. Will also greet and assist visitors to Pathology, answer phone calls, and deliver samples to labs for testing. Will assist with processing on a rotational basis.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates degree (preferably in a relevant medical field). Will consider candidates with an equivalent combination of education (to include pertinent college level courses preferably related to a medical field) and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior clinical laboratory experience, and NYS license/registration or limited permit to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technician preferred.
