Job Summary:
University Internists at the Office of Paul S. Cohen MD is a leading primary care office associated with Upstate Medical University dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare services to our community. Our team of professionals is committed to patient-centered care and innovation in clinical practices. We are currently seeking a skilled Clinical Laboratory Technologist to join our dynamic team.
As a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, you will play a crucial role in our primary care setting by performing laboratory tests, ensuring accurate results, and contributing to patient care. You will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to support diagnosis, treatment, and overall patient health.
Laboratory Testing: Conduct a variety of laboratory tests, including hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, and immunology, in accordance with established protocols.
Quality Control: Perform routine maintenance and quality control checks on laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
Sample Management: Collect, prepare, and process biological samples, maintaining proper documentation and chain of custody.
Result Analysis: Interpret and analyze test results, flagging any abnormalities for further review by physicians or medical staff.
Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all safety, quality assurance, and regulatory standards, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines.
Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to communicate test results and provide insights into patient care.
Education & Training: Provide training and guidance to laboratory staff and interns, promoting best practices and continuous learning.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of laboratory activities, test results, and equipment maintenance logs.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with laboratory technologies and methodologies.
Requires excellent organizational and written/oral communication skills as well as investigative and analytical thinking.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and current NYS license and registration required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Phlebotomist Certification

Monday through Friday daytime hours
