Job Summary:
The Clinical Placement Coordinator will develop and maintain relationships with affiliating colleges of nursing to coordinate and oversee all clinical placements within Upstate Nursing. Work in collaboration with ESH, Payroll, IMT, Unit Managers, and EPIC Training to foster a smooth experience for Nursing students and instructors. Develop and monitor communication guidelines. Coordinate welcome program to introduce clinical groups to Upstate. Host annual Clinical School Meetings and communicate outcomes to Managers. Point of contact for concerns/issues regarding placements. Develop/update/oversee the Affiliated/Visiting Student Nurse policy. Coordinate student placements for employees. Assist Recognition and Retention Coordinator when needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing and NYS licensed/registered (or eligible) RN with a minimum of 3 years post-licensure acute care RN experience required. CPR-BLS required by time of appointment. Excellent communication, organization and computer skills with proficiency and expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Clinical coordination experience within a College of Nursing preferred.
Work Days:
Monday-Friday (with occasional off shift and weekends)
