Job Summary:

The Clinical Supply Chain Value Analyst will support the Value Analysis Program (VAP) to identify cost savings opportunities, improve clinical outcomes and quality of care that are consistent with Upstate's strategic mission. Through the assessment of financial, clinical, operational, and evidence-based data sources, the CSCVA will assist in the selection, evaluation, monitoring, analysis, and implementation of system-wide product selection, utilization improvements, services, and processes. Directly works with nursing leadership, medical staff, and other stakeholders in making decisions related to the use of patient care products and equipment. Supports supply chain resiliency and product recall efforts. Duties include:

1. Coordinates product, service and evaluation processes. Initiates studies for new or alternative sources of products, services or processes to ensure maximum value.

2. Participates as a member or chair of hospital committees to include Value Analysis, Quality Management, and Clinical Pathway/Protocol teams. Presents concepts of savings strategy to clinicians. Prepare agendas, minutes and follow-through with team.

3. Meet with vendors to obtain relevant information to new products, technology, and cost savings initiatives.

4. Prepares supply chain notifications and education for clinical staff alerting them to new products, processes and/or substitutions.

5. Manages value analysis data to include documented costs savings achieved through the VAP, monitors trends in product and service consumption/use, and prepare reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

NYS licensed/registered (or eligible RN), bachelor's degree in Nursing and 3 years of post-licensure clinical experience OR a bachelor's degree in Business or related field and 5 years experience in an operating room/perioperative environment to include Operating Room Value Analysis Program experience required. Excellent written/oral communication and presentation skills. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, web searches, and materials databases/supply chain applications required. Procedural or Operating Room (OR) or ICU, or Procedural, or Medical/Surgical experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Project management experience/certification is strongly preferred.  The ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously is preferred. Lawson's experience is desirable.
