Job Summary:
The Data Manager/Statistician will work as part of the SUNY Upstate Position Center Team. Position will work with the Clinical Director to provide data reports to Local and State Public Health Agencies and Governmental officials on a regular basis.
This position will be responsible for:
Performing, analyzing, updating and modifying assigned procedures and process to continually improve call center operations and data uploaded to the National Poison Data System (NPDS).
Assists the leadership team with monitoring and analyzing poison center outcomes/metrics to ensure organization goals, objectives and outcomes are met as well along with accreditation and regulatory requirements.
Pursues methods to ensure data is accurately coded and uploaded to NPDS.
Collects and summarizes performance data, performs data/barrier analysis, identifies areas of improvement, identifies areas of education need and mechanisms to disseminate information to stakeholders.
Ensures that documentation is compliant with poison center processes.
Works with web developer to create and implement a data dashboard accessible to stakeholders to track poisoning emergencies.
Works with Leadership team to identify surveillance tools to better inform educational needs for both the Public and Healthcare providers.
Works with the Director of Quality Services to assist as needed.
Assist with the annual report each year.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or other equivalent degree from accredited College/University with 1-3 years of of experience working with standard terminology/techniques and procedures related to field.
Well organized; detail oriented and ability to multi-task.
Ability to use various computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other programs such as Tableau or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
Training or background in advanced spreadsheet and database software programs, statistics and clinical data abstraction.
Knowledge of NPDS data preferred but not required.

Days, Evening, Nights and Weekends

Annual Full-Time Salary Range: 45,000 - 55,000, DOE
Non-Exempt due to part-time status.
