Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Patient Safety and Quality, the Director of Quality Improvement is responsible for integrated, system-wide programs for performance improvement, safety, regulatory compliance, and oversight of the peer review process. Engage and coach healthcare teams about performance improvement science, Department Of Health, Office of Mental Health, and DNV related activities. Responsible for managing and coordinating Regulatory Improvement activities and identifying ongoing data and information system needs as required for the Systems Peer Review Process. Performs all duties in a manner that promotes a team concept, unification of the hospital entities and reflects the goal of providing seamless support for patients. Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of Upstate University Hospitals leadership.
Minimum Qualifications:
NYS licensed RN (or eligible), Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), and a minimum of 5 years of professional administrative experience. Demonstrated accomplishment in a complex organizational environment, preferably a teaching hospital, healthcare, or public service institution. Direct working experience in quality management is required. Interpersonal skills and the ability to relate well with the public (internal and external) from a customer perspective. Strong analytical skills, outstanding written/oral communication skills, computer literacy, and application skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
ANCC and a Master's degree in Nursing preferred.
