Job Summary:

The Department of Emergency Medicine conducts a wide range of research studies at University Hospital. We are looking for a personable, self-motivated and organized part-time Clinical Research Assistant.

This role will assist in the execution of clinical studies in accordance with approved protocols:

  • interact with patients
  • families and clinical staff
  • maintain records of clinical research
  • collect/process specimens as indicated by study protocols.

This position offers valuable clinical research experience in preparation for those seeking health care related careers. Identify, screen, consent, patients in accordance with study protocols. Administer surveys and follow-up with study participants. Adhere to IRB approved protocols, comply with Institutional policies, SOP guidelines, and federal, state, and sponsor policies. Collect/transport samples from patients as needed/indicated by the research protocol. Collect required data, code and enter onto clinical research forms or into computerized database. Maintain accurate and timely research records while upholding patient confidentiality, according to the principles of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory compliance. Perform other administrative and research duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates Degree or equivalent with relevant experience required

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a healthcare setting, either clinical or research 

Bachelor's degree in a scientific or health care field preferred

Work Days:

Shifts will be scheduled during the hours of 4pm-12am weekdays and 8am-12am weekends.
