Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse will administer medication to perform moderate sedation; participate in diagnostic and treatment procedures in SUNY Upstate Electrophysiology Lab.  
 
Responsibilities in this role will include but not limited to:
  • Documenting activities of patient care and testing.
  • Assist physicians in testing and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias in the Electrophysiology lab.
  • Communicate results of testing to cardiologist/electrophysiologist, nursing and case managers.
  • Continuing education research and patient teaching.
RN will also participate in patient care and unit activities of HVC departments of Cath Lab, Cardiac Rehab and ECHO Lab. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's degree in Nursing or equivalent, NYS RN licensure (or eligible) with a minimum of 2 years of Cardiac Care nursing experience (preferably in an ICU/critical care setting).

Certification in CPR/BLS required at time of appointment.

Must be able to handle physical aspects of patient care such as moving patients and equipment as well as participate in rotating on-call schedule.      

Preferred Qualifications:

ACLS certification preferred.

Work Days:

Monday - Friday, Flexible Days with rotation for late case coverage.
