Job Summary:
The Onondaga Community College EMT Course Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the delivery of the OCC EMT program in collaboration with EMS Education leadership, OCC partners, instructors, the EMS Programs Assistant, administrative staff, and NYS DOH Bureau of EMS course sponsorship requirements.
This position supports all instructional and operational aspects of EMT course delivery, including course scheduling, student communication, instructor coordination, classroom and lab logistics, skills practice, evaluation coordination, equipment readiness, student support, and course completion processes.
The Coordinator may also assist with didactic instruction, laboratory instruction, simulation, skills evaluation, or student support activities for the paramedic program as assigned and appropriately qualified. Administrative functions such as registration processing, invoicing, website updates, state voucher completion, meeting minutes, and final file maintenance remain assigned to the EMS Programs Assistant unless otherwise directed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current New York State EMT - Paramedic certification or higher
- Associate degree from an accredited institution;
- Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS and PALS certified and instructor certification required
- Minimum of three years of clinical prehospital care experience
- Minimum of five years of EMS instruction, course coordination, field precepting, lab instruction, or related EMS education experience
- Demonstrated experience with classroom instruction, laboratory instruction, student evaluation, skills verification, course documentation, and EMS student support
Preferred Qualifications:
- National Registry certification at or above the level of instruction assigned
- Experience coordinating EMT, AEMT, paramedic, continuing education, outreach, or college-based EMS education programs
- Experience working with Onondaga Community College, SUNY partners, hospital-based EMS education, or NYS DOH course sponsorship processes
- Bachelors degree preferred
- Experience with simulation-based education, competency-based evaluation, remediation, curriculum development, course documentation oversight, and EMS program quality improvement
- Additional instructor credentials such as ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, AMLS, GEMS, EPC, ABLS, or other EMS-related specialty instructor certifications

The salary range depicted is based on full time, 1.0 FTE and would be prorated accordingly for less than 1.0 FTE.
