Job Summary:
Primary Responsibilities
-Assist with planning and coordinating population health initiatives, meetings, and special projects.
-Support community outreach and engagement activities, including health fairs, educational events, and stakeholder meetings.
-Assist with literature reviews, evidence summaries, and white papers.
-Help collect, organize, and maintain research and program evaluation data.
-Enter, clean, and manage data using Microsoft Excel, REDCap, or other databases.
-Assist in preparing presentations, reports, educational materials, and meeting agendas.
-Support communication with community organizations, healthcare providers, and project partners.
-Assist with scheduling meetings, preparing meeting minutes, and tracking project timelines.
-Help develop social media, website, and public education materials related to cancer prevention and population health.
-Assist with grant-related activities, including document preparation and progress tracking.
-Perform other duties as assigned to support the Population Health Program.


Depending on ongoing projects, students may assist with:

Cancer prevention and early detection initiatives
Community outreach and engagement
Cancer screening programs
Rural and underserved population health initiatives
Health communication campaigns
Health disparities and health equity projects
Quality improvement and implementation science
Community-based participatory research (CBPR)

Minimum Qualifications
Undergraduate background in public health and/or Graduate student in Public Health
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
 
Minimum Qualifications:

Must be a current student enrolled at Upstate Medical University and approved for financial aid through the Student Financial Aid office at Upstate.

Hybrid. Negotiable based on class schedule

Salary Range/Pay Rate:

$17/hour
