Job Summary:

The HR Service Center Representative provides a wide variety of HR services within a complex environment, responding to or making referrals of customer inquiries or concerns received through the Ask HR portal, in person, via telephone, or email in a timely manner. This position is also responsible for performing a variety of duties in support of the HR department:

· Address in person customers, serving as first point of contact in the HR Service Center (employees, contract and other non-employees, students, physicians, outside vendors) determine and handle need, or refer/elevate as appropriate.
· Manage queries for Ask HR, respond or refer/elevate as appropriate
· Make recommendations as to content for the Ask HR portal
· Provides information and guidance specific to all bargaining units and affiliates for NYS and the SUNY Research Foundation
· Utilizes policies, procedures, and internal resource materials to develop knowledge of all subjects handled by HR
· Support student employment activities, and on-boarding of medical residents
· Perform employment verifications
· Assist internal and external applicants by troubleshooting technical difficulties, resetting passwords, verifying applicant statuses and walk-in applicants through the application process
· Assist with the on-boarding of new employees, including collecting and reviewing I-9 documents and completion of the I-9 form
· Perform re-verification of I-9 documentation
· Credential tracking, collection and reverification
· Reconciliation of invoices
· Accept in-person grievance forms from employees, ensuring proper time stamp and forwarding to appropriate ELR Representative
· Oversee manager review of personnel files
· Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates Degree and 2 years of related experience required. A Bachelors with no experience will also be considered. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, with great ability for knowledge retention and recall. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive callers/situations.
