      Job Summary:

      The Infection Control Practitioner participates in institution-wide surveillance and reporting of hospital-acquired infections (HAI). The Infection Control Practitioner also participates in the investigation of infections and/or outbreaks as needed, provides consultation services to our customers, manages the hand hygiene program, and provides targeted educational activities that will support a safe environment for internal and external customers. The position requires the ability to assist in editing the content of the Infection Prevention manual that includes the exposure control plan and the COVID-19 policies. The Infection Control Practitioner will lead and assist on quality improvement teams by providing content expertise on best-practice, providing data trends, and reports to reduce HAIs.

      Minimum Qualifications:

      NYS Licensed/Registered (or eligible) RN, Bachelor's degree in Nursing, and a minimum of 5 years related post-licensure RN experience or an Associate's degree in Nursing and 7 years related post-licensure RN experience required.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      Master's degree, prior experience in Infection Control or related field, and certification in Infection Control preferred.
