Job Summary:

The radiologic technologist is responsible for performing radiologic examinations under the direction of the departmental radiologists as per policies and procedures. This position will be in the Interventional Radiology division. Responsibilities will include Neuro, Cardiac and Vascular Angiography (including intraoperative), Venous interventions, biopsies, C-arm procedures, non-vascular interventions and pain management procedures. The technologist will greet the patient, explain the examination, position the patient and set the proper exposure factors in order to obtain the quality radiograph. Technologist will assure radiation safety. Technologist will possess knowledge to operate radiology equipment efficiently and effectively in order to obtain quality studies and will report any malfunctions with equipment to the immediate supervisor. They will be responsible for processing images and inputting information into the Radiology Information System for documentation and billing purposes. This position is mainly responsible for providing radiologic examinations based on referring physician and radiologist needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

AAS in Radiologic Technology or equivalent, NYS license/registration and ARRT (must obtain within 1 year of appointment), one year experience as a radiologic technologist, plus current CPR-BLS certification required at the time of appointment. Registration certification for Contrast Injection required (must obtain within 3 months of appointment).

Salary/title level commensurate with qualifications. *Candidates who possess an A.A.S. in Radiologic Technology or equivalent, NYS license or eligible, and no experience will be considered for appointment to an entry level (SL1) position. Will need limited permit if not licensed.

Work Days:

40 hrs/week; Specific days/hours to be determined. Will be required to work weekends and holidays on a rotational basis. Overtime may be required based on departmental needs.
