Job Summary:

Join our growing primary care office conveniently located in downtown Syracuse! This long-standing practice offers interesting clinical exposure, in addition to working with seasoned providers and excellent staff! This dynamic role supports our providers throughout their workday, and our patients during their visits, supporting them with their clinical needs.  You will be a key factor in the patients experiencing a comfortable and thorough visit in our practice as well as working with patient through the EMR portal. This role is critical to the success of our practice and also satisfying for the individual working in it. The LPN position completes nurse visits and other skilled clinical tasks, within the scope of an LPN within a Physician Office Practice.  Throughout your time, you will learn new things and the work day fly’s by!

Position Summary:

  • Screen patients, take vital signs, review medication list, assist clinician with exams, maintain patient flow.
  • Record concise, accurate and complete information regarding patient history, medications, teaching, etc., as per policy.
  • Appropriate and professional telephone interactions under supervision of clinician or Nurse Manager, handle prescription renewals, enter /edit labs, maintain communication between clinician and patient. Provide written patient education material. Maintain exam rooms, stock rooms with supplies, clean instruments, and inventory.
  • Maintenance of medical charts, flow sheets, forms and processing of insurance forms. Scanning and abstraction. Provide backup / coverage to other office staff as needed
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned
  • Complete and maintain EPIC training and proficiency at all relevant nursing course
  • Support and assist head nurse as necessary:
    • Attend nursing staff meetings, participating in sharing knowledge, information and ideas among team members.
    • Assist in the orientation of new personnel when requested
  • Assure a safe and productive environment of patients and staff members:
    • Follow procedures set for adherence to the safety guidelines and policies of the practice and OSHA (i.e., cleaning of equipment and instruments, etc). Inform Nurse Manager of any areas for concern
  • Perform other duties in any area necessary to insure the safe and effective operation of the practice.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned

Completion of necessary paperwork:

  • Complete forms at Licensed Practical Nurse level of expertise (i.e., insurance, compensation, disability).
Minimum Qualifications:

NYS licensed/registered LPN. Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in an outpatient setting (speciality area) strongly preferred.

Monday - Friday
