Job Summary:

Under the direction of the supervisor or licensed provider, the MOA collaborates within a multi-disciplinary team approach to deliver quality care.

MOA performs clinical and clerical support activities. Clinical & clerical duties:

  • Prepare examination rooms for patients before, during and after clinics to include restocking of supplies used,
    cleaning and sterilizing instruments used.
  • Assist providers with in office procedures.
  • Rooming patients, provide direct care, and or medical screening of patients which includes vitals, reviewing medications, allergies, medical and surgical history.
  • Maintain sufficient patient flow by coordinating and monitoring patient schedules.
  • Prepare and maintain patients medical record pertaining to their visit.
  • Schedule future testing which includes obtaining prior authorizations for any testing ordered.
  • Triaging phone calls.
  • Reviewing new patient referrals with provider and scheduling new patient appointments.
  • Doing all follow up appointment scheduling.
  • Maintaining the providers certificates and licenses.
  • Cross coverage with another provider at any of the locations.
  • Will provide other clerical and clinical as needed by the provider.
  • Obtain medical/surgical clearances for surgeries and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:

Completion of an approved Medical Assistant or Medical Office Assistant program or one year experience directly related to the medical field; Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills required.
