Job Summary:

The Music Chaplain will focus on providing and coordinating live music at the bedside and on clinical units to contribute to an enhanced patient experience and provide identified spiritual care needs. As a Music Chaplain you will help provide a comforting experience to such patients as those experiencing end of life situations, patients transitioning to comfort care, patients in distress, families that need comforting and staff that need an uplift.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Music and 1 year experience of providing music in a hospital setting. Completed minimum of one unit of Association for Clinical Pastoral Education Clinical Pastoral Education required. Demonstrated proficiency in one or more instruments, including voice. Endorsed or ordained in a recognized faith tradition required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters degree in Theology preferred. Demonstrated bedside ability to engage patients with music as a spiritual intervention. Demonstrated ability to coordinate and lead a hospital choir. Willingness to become a Certified Music Practitioner (CMP) through the Music for Healing and Transitions Program (MHTP) preferred. Interest in completing all qualifications to become a Board Certified Chaplain preferred.

Work Days:

Tuesdays and Fridays, hours TBD
