Job Summary:
Responsible for the orientation and education of staff and serves as a resource to new staff and other Upstate personnel. Works with orientees, staff and manager to identify learning needs and opportunities with department. Remains current on neurodiagnostic education and training of staff. Leads department initiative to increase specialty certification. Provides off shift oversight of the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit at UH (Downtown Campus) and CH (Community Campus). Acts as a point person for resolutions of equipment issues. Functions as a EEG Technician, performing routine EEG's in accordance with established ASET guidelines on patients ranging from neo-natal to geriatric in an in and outpatient setting, enters raw data and prepares data for physician review, measures and applies electrodes for adult and pediatric patients, participates in on-call rotation, maintains equipment, stocks acquisition stations, reports malfunctions to Clinical Engineering and records in equipment log book. Demonstrates excellent communication skills, involvement and interest in activities that promote growth of the department and staff. Will provide guidance and support to staff in the absence of the Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree or graduate of an Electro Neuro Diagnostics school required. Must be a Registered EEG T or EP T or NCS T, CNC T, a minimum of 3 years video monitoring experience required. CPR, excellent communication organizational and computer skills. Leadership experience required.
