Job Summary:
The Night Shift Manager plans, coordinates, and manages all scheduled and unscheduled delivery processes to all patient care areas during Central Distributions Night Shift. Creates staffing schedule to assure timely execution of scope of services. Makes specific shift assignments on nightly basis and resolves staffing coverage issues.
In cooperation and coordination with other Central Distribution Managers, assists in implementation of staff training for all Distribution department staff. Has primary responsibility for maintaining mandatory in-service and on-going education for Central Distribution Night Shift staffs, but assists with all departmental training as needed.
Supervises all Central Distribution Night Shift staff. Completes performance appraisals within required time frames using competency based performance documents.
Performs quality monitoring in support of departmental metrics and ensures that Night Shift is proceeding in a spirit of continuous improvement.
Shares Manager On Call responsibility with other Central Distribution Assistant Manager on rotating basis.
Conducts daily walk through of unit supply location to ensure they are properly stocked, and organized.
Ensures all totes not completed by evening shift are delivered, and put away properly.
Ensures Critical Stations is kept up, and all carts and kits are complete and ready for issue.
Monitors staff interaction with nursing staff to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
Supervises the maintenance of the Distribution pick area, ensuring it is well stocked, and well organized.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associates degree in business, health care or related field and 3 years distribution experience (preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting ) or equivalent combination of education and experience plus excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills required. Prior supervisory experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and lift 35 pounds to shoulder height.
Work Days:
11:00 pm - 7:30 am, weekends and holidays as needed
