Job Summary:
Responsible for the overall nursing and clinical operations and management of the Upstate University Medicine practice at Township 5. Working under the UUMAS Director of Quality and Practice Operations, the Nurse Manager will develop and maintain operational strategies, a compliance program, employee engagement and turnover initiatives, patient experience and clinical quality.
The Nurse Manager, in addition to the specific responsibilities listed below, may assist the Practice Manager in developing other key projects.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Direct and manage the clinical operations at Upstate University Medicine @ Township 5;
Development and oversight of purchasing (e.g., supplies, goods, etc.) and inventory practices, including attribution to appropriate provider groups;
Problem solve and communicate essential data to physicians, business managers and staff to ensure services are effectively rendered in an efficient working environment;
Develop and monitor staff and provider work schedules to maximize patient access, space utilization and support staffing;
Monitor patient satisfaction levels utilizing patient satisfaction tools adopted by UUMAS;
Monitor clinical quality metrics and develop improvement initiatives as needed;
Ensure all patient complaints are handled effectively to attain maximum patient satisfaction. May include directly handling complaints related to facility or support staff under the Practice Manager;
Assure appropriate supervision of clinical staff, address/document disciplinary actions as required, and conduct performance evaluations;
Develop, maintain and monitor practice policies and procedures;
Ensure equipment is fully operational and inspections are kept up to date with OSHA or other regulatory standards;
Maintain current knowledge of health care issues, standards of practice, and CPT/ICD-10 codes;
Regularly meet with UUMAS Practice Manager to maintain regulatory and compliance environments within the practice; and
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, licensed as a RN in New York State, and 3 years professional nursing experience. Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required. Experience with electronic medical records. Need the ability to calmly handle emergencies, establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and medical staff, and possess good organizational skills.

M-F 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

L3: $65,558 - $104,893
Please note the salary information shown is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market and business considerations. The salary range depicted is based on full time, 1.0 FTE and would be prorated accordingly for less than 1.0 FTE.
