Job Summary: The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant provides advance practice nursing care to patients, families and the community through assessment, planning, prescribing and evaluation interventions. A Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant is a member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team who demonstrates professionalism and leadership within the institution. The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant exemplifies the Upstate mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Upstate policies and procedures.
No call responsibilities. Minimum Qualifications:

NYS licensed/registered NP or PA required (NYS NP specialty area of certification must be consistent with practice). Must have NPI number and be Medicare Enrolled with Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) or be eligible for Medicare enrollment (eligibility criteria for NP requires National Certification through AANP or ANCC, and Master's Degree) (eligibility criteria for PA requires graduation from an accredited PA program and National Certification through NCCPA). Initial certification must be present or obtained at time of hire. Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in neuroscience, neurosurgery or neurology preferred but not required. New graduates encourage to apply.
