Job Summary:
The Nursing Professional Development Manager (NPDM) collaborates with nursing leadership, management teams, and numerous multidisciplinary departments to promote and support ongoing nursing professional development through the design and implementation of strategic initiatives that promote the increase of specialty certified nurses, BSN or higher prepared RNs, shared decision making and nursing professional governance participation, as well as other recommended best practices related to nursing professional development and nursing excellence. The NPDM will ensure alignment of the Nursing Professional Development Program goals with Upstate's Nursing Department Strategic Plan, as well as alignment with criteria of the accrediting agencies of the programs they oversee.
Minimum Qualifications:
NYS Licensed/Registered (or eligible) Registered Nurse required. Bachelors in Nursing and three years acute care post licensure RN experience, and progressive leadership experience required. Must have strong organizational skills to include excellent communication skills both verbal and written and must be competent in Microsoft Office products. CPR-BLS required by time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in nursing preferred. Three years of leadership experience and program management skills preferred. Specialty certification upon hire preferred or recommend obtaining specialty certification within 3 years of appointment.
