Job Summary:

The Surgery Center Nursing Station Clerk 1, will perform a  wide variety of routine clerical duties in and  is in frequent contact with patients, families, physicians, and ancillary professionals. Duties include but are not limited to: greeting visitors and directing them to appropriate locations; answering telephones; performing data entry activities; maintaining daily and clinical logs; preparing, updating, and maintaining patient charts and files; mailing patient letters; and ordering and stock unit supplies. Will assist affiliate offices with scheduling of infusions in the Surgery Center and preoperative phone calls, utilizing clinical staff as a resource as needed or escalating a call to the appropriate care team member.

Minimum Qualifications:

The NYS Department of Civil Service has developed the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement (HELP) Program, During this program, the NYS Civil Service Exam requirements are suspended for the Nursing Station Clerk 1, SG07 title.

For consideration for this title, you must meet the following minimum qualifications:

One year full-time clerical, secretarial or patient care experience in a healthcare setting.

Work Days:

Schedule based on a 40-hour work week. Monday-Friday, Monday-Friday, Day Shift 8:00 am-4:00 pm.
