Job Summary:
Responsible for front desk operations of the Clinical Neurophysiology Lab. Duties include but are not limited to: greeting patient, advising staff of their arrival, answering phones, confirming appointments, and scheduling tests according to time slots, staffing, & location, prepares files for patients, obtain patient authorizations & ensures all necessary paperwork is complete; prepares weekly schedules and facilitates changes in schedule; handles all correspondence related to testing & test results; maintains testing database and distributes final reports appropriately; use of CAIS/MEDIC to enter appropriate billing codes, rectifies discrepancies, obtain necessary patient information for testing; general office duties such as responding to external/internal MD requests for information, ordering clerical supplies, distributes mail, Use of EPIC to scan documents, maintain patient database, assist with Press Ganey Survey. Patient confidentiality is a must. Strong organizational and computer skills preferred.
Minimum Qualifications:

Promotional:
Must be a qualified employee of New York State and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as an office assistant, clerical or keyboarding title allocated to Grade 5 or higher. Or
Open competitive (Non-competitive, NY HELPS) Qualifications:
One year of clerical experience where majority of work time is spent performing keyboarding, data entry, chart compilation or arrangement or various tasks involving typing into computerized systems.
*Candidates will be required to pass a keyboarding test that demonstrates the ability to enter text at a rate of at least 30 words per minute with at least 96% accuracy.
Work Days:
Schedule based on a 40 hour work week. Monday- Friday, 7:00 AM- 3:30 PM
