Job Summary:

The Front-End Patient Service Representative (PSR), in our Infectious Disease division, serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors. This position is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while performing a variety of administrative and clerical tasks to support patient care. The PSR manages patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and front-desk operations to ensure smooth patient flow and a positive experience.

  • Greet patients, families, and visitors in a professional, friendly, and courteous manner.
  • Check in and register patients for appointments, confirming demographic and insurance information. 
  • Schedule and confirm appointments, follow up on cancellations, and manage waitlists.
  • Verify insurance eligibility, obtain pre-authorizations when required, and collect copayments or balances.
  • Maintain accuracy and confidentiality of patient records in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
  • Communicate effectively with clinical and imaging staff to coordinate patient flow and minimize wait times.
  • Answer incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and route messages appropriately.
  • Assist patients with forms, wayfinding, and understanding pre-procedure instructions.
  • Monitor and maintain front-desk supplies and patient-facing materials.
  • Escalate patient concerns or service issues to management as needed.
  • Participate in department meetings and training sessions to stay current on processes and protocols.
Minimum Qualifications:

Associates Degree or pertinent college level courses and two years of administrative/office management experience. Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience.

G3: $18.75 - $28.40
