Job Summary:

SUNY Upstate Payroll Department is in search of a Payroll TimeKeeper who will perform a variety of tasks including Timesheet review and approval using Upstate, New York State and Research Foundation payroll systems.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Auditing and signing off on Bi-weekly time sheets using KRONOS.
  • Maintaining accurate accrual balances for Upstate employees across multiple bargaining units for an assigned group of employees.
  • Responding to employees various inquiries regarding their time and attendance information.
  • Communicate with department supervisors to provide accurate timesheets based the different bargaining unit agreements in multiple systems.
  • Update and track time accruals for employees on various types of leaves.
  • Scanning and indexing of various payroll related documents.
  • Have a working understanding and knowledge of current bargaining unit agreements, Civil Service Time and Attendance Rules and other time and attendance regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

3 years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience; excellent written/oral communication skills required. Computer skills and keyboarding are necessary. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in payroll is preferred.

Work Days:

Monday - Friday, Days: 8:00 am - 4:00 (37.5 hour work week)
