Job Summary:
SUNY Upstate Medical University is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pediatric Advanced Practice Provider to join the Advanced Practice Provider Team at Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital. This position provides Full-Time Inpatient Care in a 12 Hour rotating shift capacity based on operational needs and assists the multidisciplinary team caring for patients admitted to the Pediatric Hospitalist Service.
Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital serves a 22-county region providing a complete range of Health Care Services for children from Birth to 19 years. It is the regions only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center, verified by the American College of Surgeons and is one of the busiest Pediatric Trauma centers in New York State. Upstate operates 24 hours a day/Seven days a week, providing continuous care to our region.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide expert level clinical care & coordination of care via a full range of services that will improve quality of patient care.

Assessing & evaluating patients, ordering appropriate laboratory testing & diagnostic studies, arranging for referrals, testing, consultation & therapeutic services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, referring physicians, and all members of the health care team.
As an APP, you will be an integral member of the Pediatrics Hospitalist Healthcare Team, demonstrating professionalism, leadership, and a commitment to Upstate’s mission, vision, and values, while adhering to all institutional policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant or eligible.
- NYS Licensed/Registered NP or PA.
- Current National Certification consistent to the clinical practice.
- Have a NPI number and be Medicare enrolled with a Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) (or eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire.
- CPR-BLS Certification required at the time of appointment.
- Must successfully pass pre-employment and credentialing clearances.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Inpatient and Pediatric experience preferred.
Work Days:
12 hour shifts, Days and Nights including Weekends and Holidays.
Shifts are based on operational needs.
