Job Summary:

SUNY Upstate is in search of a Per Diem Advanced Practice Provider to serve as a Pediatric Hospitalist providing care to Inpatients within Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital.

Golisano Children’s Hospital serves a 22-County region providing a complete range of Health Care Services for children from Birth to 19 years. Position is a 12 hour rotating shifts assisting Inpatient Teams caring for patients admitted to the Pediatric Hospitalist Services.  

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert level clinical care & coordination of care via a full range of services that will improve quality of patient care.
• Assessing & evaluating patients, ordering appropriate laboratory testing & diagnostic studies, arranging for referrals, testing, consultation & therapeutic services.
• Maintaining outstanding relationships with families, referring physicians & all members of the health care team.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (or graduated from an accredited PA program).

NYS Licensed/Registered NP or PA.

Current National Certification consistent to the clinical practice. 

Have a NPI number and be Medicare enrolled with a Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) (or eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire.

CPR-BLS Certification required at the time of appointment.

Must successfully pass pre-employment and credentialing clearances. 

Work Days:

Per Diem, 12 hour shifts, Combination Days and Nights, including Weekends and Holidays.
