Job Summary:

The Performance Improvement Specialist will be primarily responsible daily for identifying and resolving errors in accounts that fall into various ADT (Admission/Discharge/Transfer) billing and patient work queues. Via weekly quality reviews, the Performance Improvement Specialist will provide department supervisors with feedback for delivery of a scorecard to staff members on their performance. The Performance Improvement Specialist will support the Department with identifying training opportunities, development of training material and maintenance of the Patient Access Intranet site. The Performance Improvement Specialist will act as a department super user for all areas of PAS registration and will perform classroom and on-the-job training as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

The NYS Department of Civil Service has developed the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement (HELP) Program. During this program, the NYS Civil Service Exam requirements are suspended for the Hospital Patient Services Clerk 2 title.

For consideration for this title, you must meet one of the following minimum qualifications:

NYS Department of Civil Service Eligible list or eligible for transfer

Or

Promotional:

You must be a qualified employee of the State University of New York and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Hospital Patient Services Clerk 1 or as a Nursing Station Clerk 1

Or

Open Competitive (Non-competitive, NY HELPS) Qualifications:

Two years of full-time clerical experience in a health care setting; or two years of full-time secretarial experience in a health care setting; or two years of full-time patient care experience in a health care setting

Schedule based on a 40-hour work week. Day Shift, Monday – Friday 8am – 4:30pm
