Job Summary:
The Pharmacist is responsible for providing leadership and oversight of pharmacy operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support safe and effective medication management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Direct daily operations, including medication procurement, inventory management, sterile compounding, and dispensing workflows
- Prepare and manage the pharmacy budget
- Forecast drug expenses
- Oversee cost-reduction initiatives through smart inventory control
- Ensure all pharmacy services meet legal, federal, state, and accreditation standards (such as JCAHO)
- Oversee the secure handling of controlled substances
- Supervise, mentor, and schedule pharmacists and pharmacy technicians
- Serve as a key member of medical committees (e.g., Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee) to update hospital formularies, evaluate medication usage, and improve patient transitions of care
- Strong leadership and managerial skills to lead and motivate a team of pharmacy professionals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders, including healthcare providers, patients, and administrative staff
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical principles, drug therapy, and medication management practices
- Proficiency in pharmacy information systems and technology to optimize pharmacy operations and enhance patient safety
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex pharmacy-related issues
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS) pertaining to pharmacy practice
Minimum Qualifications:
BS in Pharmacy or PharmD, New York State license.
Need excellent communication skills, precise attention to detail, and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.

The salary range depicted is based on full time, 1.0 FTE and would be prorated accordingly for less than 1.0 FTE.
