Job Summary: Assists physicians in all aspects of patient care, including examining patients, compiling medical data, administering or ordering diagnostic tests, and interpreting test results, referring unusual findings to the supervising physician. Performs therapeutic duties such as injections, wound care, immunizations and managing infection. May make diagnoses, dispense medication, and assist physicians in surgical procedures. The Physician Assistant will take responsibility for orchestrating specialty care in the outpatient setting. The incumbent shall assess, diagnose and develop a plan of care for patients with cardiology diseases in conjunction with the Cardiologist and will work as a part of the academic care team. Minimum Qualifications:

NYS licensed/registered PA required. Must have NPI number and be Medicare Enrolled with Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) OR be eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire (eligibility criteria for PA requires graduation from an accredited PA program and National Certification through NCCPA). Initial certification must be present or obtained within 6 months of hire. Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Two year previous experience with Cardiology patients preferred.

Work Days:

Monday through Friday daytime hours

L5-L6: $99,000 - $165,000

Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market and business considerations. The salary range depicted is based on full time, 1.0 FTE and would be prorated accordingly for less than 1.0 FTE.
