Job Summary:

The Behavioral Emergency Team Recreational Therapist will support the care of patients who have a risk for escalated behavior. They will function as an expert resource and work collaboratively with the psychiatric, medical and other multidisciplinary teams. They will assess the specific needs of patients and provide structured activities based on their assessment. They will support patient care through direct consultation, coaching/mentoring, learning needs assessment, formal and informal education, and providing guidance to the Upstate Staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Recreational Therapy or Therapeutic Recreation, NCTRC certification and a minimum of 3 years of related experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in working with psychiatric/geriatric population.

Work Days:

Day/Evenings/Weekends as needed
