Job Summary:
In this position, the social worker will provide comprehensive psycho-social management and support to at-risk patients and families in the inpatient adult and adolescent psychiatric units at Upstate Medical University. Duties will include providing psychosocial consultation through the use of a wide range of interventions and treatment modalities, the social worker contributes to the achievement of optimum health, satisfaction, and cost-effective care by addressing behavioral social, and environmental issues that may impede care. In addition, will assume Team Leader responsibilities; adhere to policy and regulatory standards, support social work QI programs, orientation of new staff, supervise assigned social work staff, participate in employee evaluation, and provide coverage to the Director and Assistant director in their absence. And all other duties commensurate with a team leader's assignment.
Minimum Qualifications:
MSW from a Social Work program accredited by the Council on Social Work (CSWE), NYS Certification (LMSW) and five years post-master's experience (preferably in a hospital and/or healthcare environment) required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous administrative or supervisory experience is preferred.
Work Days:
Monday-Friday 830am-5pm with occasional on-call/holiday coverage on rotation based on operational needs
