Job Summary:
The mission of SUNY Upstate Medical University is to improve the health of the communities we serve through education, biomedical research, and health care. Integral to achieving this mission is Supply Chain Management activities. We source, buy, ship, store, move and stock medical supplies and equipment for the three hospitals and all ambulatory locations. That’s a lot of logistical coordination! With this need in mind, we are looking for a new Administrative Assistant, or “air traffic controller” to join our Supply Chain team! This role is vital to ensuring smooth operations within the Supply Chain front office and associated departments. Can you help us? Here’s what you’ll do:
- Main scheduler and support person for the Associate Administrator for Support Services
- Assist with Supply Chain recruitment activities to include creating marketing materials, attending job fairs, and scheduling interview
- Process and track speed purchase orders and requisitions
- Provide back-end support to “ProCure” in team dynamics and update the Supply Chain website
- Reconcile invoices with Accounts Payable and vendors
- Serve as the system administrator for SYMPLR vendor management and Staples office supplies (we’ll train you!)
- Assist with the bid process and associated documentation
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree and one (1) year relevant experience or and Associates Degree and three (3) years relevant experience required. Excellent written/oral communication, interpersonal skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant experience in a administrative support role or hospital and/or State setting
