Job Summary:
The IMT Autonomous Machines department is responsible for the innovative use of technology at SUNY Upstate, specializing in the deployment of Robots, Drones, and VR within the institution.
We aim to hire a well-organized technical support individual to provide front-line IT support for the departments programs. Primary functions include onboarding new users, working support tickets, and assisting with whatever technical issues end users may be facing related to our programs. You will be required to provide both onsite and remote support at our two hospital campuses.
To ensure success in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of hardware and software systems, high-level interpersonal skills, and the ability to solve medium to complex IT issues. Ultimately, a top-notch technical support analyst can easily identify and solve technical issues and communicate the resolution back to the end user in a timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree (preferably in a STEAM-related field) and three years of experience working with technology support, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Excellent written/oral communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and computer skills are required. The position will require lifting 50 pounds several times a week, and a significant amount of walking required.
Candidates who possess a Bachelor's degree and one year relevant experience or an Associate's degree and a minimum of two years relevant experience or four years of combination of education and experience may be considered for appointment to a lower-level position at a commensurate salary.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with drones, robotics, the internet of things (loT), FAA and FCC regulations, and system administration is preferred. Need a level of comfort working in a health care environment.
Work Days:
M-F 8am-5pm - Flexible as needed. This is a support role for 24/7/365 hospital services.
