Job Summary:
The mission of SUNY Upstate Medical University is to improve the health of the communities we serve through education, biomedical research, and health care. Beyond our downtown campus, we provide care through our clinics and offices across the greater Syracuse area.
In support of our ongoing growth, we are seeking highly skilled and motivated Advanced Practice Providers to join our Procedure Team. The fulltime Proceduralist APP will provide care to patients within both the inpatient and outpatient areas at SUNY Upstate Downtown and Community Campuses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and perform various procedures including, but not limited to paracentesis, thoracentesis, lumbar punctures, ultrasound guided IV’s, punch biopsies, arthrocentesis, and central lines.
- Providing expert level clinical care & coordination of care via a full range of services that will improve quality of patient care assessing & evaluating patients, ordering appropriate laboratory testing & diagnostic studies, arranging for referrals, testing, consultation & therapeutic services.
- Maintaining outstanding relationships with families, referring physicians & all members of the health care team.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (or graduated from an accredited PA program) or will be eligible by time of appointment.
- NYS Licensed/Registered NP or PA.
- Current National Certification consistent to the clinical practice.
- NYS licensed/registered NP or PA required. Have a NPI number and be Medicare enrolled with a Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) (or eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire.
- CPR-BLS Certification required at the time of appointment.
- Must successfully pass pre-employment and credentialing clearances.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of Procedural experience.
Work Days:
Monday-Friday Days, with Rotation to Weekends & Holidays
