The Nappi Wellness Institute PAS Team Leader is responsible for the supervision of the day-to-day activities of PAS staff in the Nappi Wellness Institute. The Team Leader will assist with the development of guidelines for staff assignments and rotations, evaluate effectiveness and modify work activities of staff as needed, ensure appropriate staffing, approval of time off requests and time sheet completion. Will monitor and evaluate registration data quality and provide feedback and education to registration staff. Assists registration staff with completion of registration activities such as entering and/or verifying demographic, insurance and/or financial information; generating routine forms and other documentation; capturing necessary consents and understanding when ABN is needed. Works with and advises patient on insurance carrier requirements including services not covered. Using tact and diplomacy, often under stressful conditions, will act as the first line of contact for patients and families. Will provide guidance and support to staff and facilitate open lines of communication with staff, the health care team, patients and families. Handles patient/visitor complaints and responds to complainant and/or department within one day of receiving the complaint. Works with Patient Relations when actions warrant. The Nappi Wellness Institute PAS Team Leader will act as a liaison between patients and internal departments to deliver exceptional patient experience and departmental satisfaction.
Associates degree and three (3) years of related patient financial/insurances services experience in healthcare related setting or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Working knowledge of medical terminology, medical billing/insurance requirements, familiarity with medical coding, and excellent written/oral communication skills required. Previous supervisory experience required. Certified Health Access Associate (CHAA) required.**
**Candidates who do not currently possess CHAA will be required to obtain certification within 2 years of appointment.
Experience working with a diverse patient population.
Monday-Friday. Off shift work may be required.
