Job Summary:
The New Patient Coordinator Nurse at Upstate Cancer Center is pivotal in managing and coordinating new patient referrals across our Adult Hematology-Oncology, including downtown and satellite locations. This position involves close collaboration with medical and administrative teams, evaluating medical records, and ensuring comprehensive care for new patients. The position is vital for ensuring a smooth transition for new patients into our care system, facilitating their integration, and maintaining high standards of care throughout their journey.
Minimum Qualifications:
NYS licensed/registered (or eligible) RN, Bachelor's degree in Nursing or healthcare-related field and two (2) years post-licensure acute care RN experience or Associate's degree in Nursing and four (4) years post-licensure acute care RN experience to include two (2) years as a Certified Nurse/Patient Coordinator in a specialty area. CPR-BLS certification is required by the time of appointment. Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working as an RN in Hematology/Oncology preferred.
