Job Summary:
This position is assigned to the HVAC Shop and Will report to the Plant Utilities Engineer 2. As a shift supervisor will be immediately responsible for the operation, maintenance and repairs of high pressure or high temperature hot water, steam systems and auxiliary heating system equipment, mechanical equipment rooms, refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, pumps, air compressors, temperature and humidity control systems, and emergency generators. Will perform Journey level duties; troubleshoot and inspect equipment to ensure safe & efficient operations; observe, read & interpret gauges & meters; utilize hand & power tools of trade; read & interpret technical manuals & specifications; lift, climb, stoop, bend, stand, & stretch for long periods of time, as well as perform moderate to heavy lifting. Must be free of facial hair or beard that may interfere with the fit or seal of a mask respirator at point of fit test. A mask must be worn in order to comply with State & Federal Safety health Codes. Reassignment offers are contingent upon satisfactory evaluation from Employee Health and Safety.
Must possess and maintain a valid NYS Driver's License.
Minimum Qualifications:
New York State Department of Civil Service Eligible List or eligible for transfer.
