Secretary II will provide clerical support to outpatient care setting, duties to include, patient scheduling and registration, check-in and check-out process. answer incoming calls, make outgoing calls. Collect co-pays and initiate insurance carrier regulatory requirements. Obtain patient records/reports. Process billing work queues, monitor reports and trace missing diagnoses and charges. Assist with mail distribution and other tasks as assigned by leadership.
Two years of secretarial/clerical experience required, preferably in an ambulatory patient care setting. Working knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, excellent phone etiquette with the ability to multi-task. Strong customer service skills necessary.
Experience working in an ambulatory patient care setting is preferred. Experience obtaining medical service authorizations, communicating with insurance carriers, or other support agencies strongly preferred. Experience with Medical Data Base systems (Epic software preferred) for patient registration and scheduling and experience with multiple provider scheduling and medical record management preferred.
