Job Summary:

The Specialist in Poison Information will be responsible for providing toxicological management information to healthcare providers and to the public over the telephone; following up information/support to potential symptomatic home cases, patients evaluated/treated or admitted to a healthcare facility; participating in research projects and professional educational programs to include: new employees, students, residents, hospital staff; other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

NYS licensed/registered (or eligible) Registered Nurse with a Bachelors degree in Nursing and a minimum of 1 year hospital-based Med/Surg, ICU or ED RN nursing experience OR Associates degree in Nursing and 3 years of hospital-based Med/Surg, ICU or ED RN nursing required. *Will also consider a NYS licensed/registered (or eligible) Pharmacist, Physician, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant OR a Medical degree (MD) or foreign equivalent with prior hospital based experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Current experience as certified specialist in poison information

Work Days:

Evening, Nights & Weekends
