Job Summary: This position is within the Department of Surgery. Responsibilities include obtaining authorizations for the Vascular Surgery OR and HVC cases, along with processing authorizations for the CNY clinic scans and referrals. This individual will also help answer phones and relay messages via outlook and EPIC as well as checking in- and out-patients.
Other duties as assigned.
Duties:
- Obtaining HVC and OR authorizations
- Obtaining CNY Clinic authorizations
- Work in conjunction with Vascular OR Scheduler, and CNY Vascular MOA to ensure accurate authorizations are completed
- Maintain communication with the Business Office in supplying authorization information for surgical cases upon request
- Working authorization appeals and denials
- Answering clinic phone calls, taking accurate messages, and transferring calls to appropriate staff
- Provide back up for Vascular/Vascular Lab at CNY with patient check-in and check-out Minimum Qualifications:

Associates Degree or pertinent college level courses and three years of administrative/office management experience. Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a medical office environment and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) as well as EPIC. Understanding of CPT codes/coding and medical terminology preferred.

Work Days:

Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
