Job Summary:
The incumbent is responsible for executing daily drone delivery missions using both visual line of sight (VLOS) and beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) operations, ensuring safe and efficient flights through real-time monitoring and coordination with ground and clinical teams. Duties include conducting thorough pre-flight inspections, maintaining detailed documentation, and analyzing flight data to identify performance trends and improve operations. The role requires strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance, including securing necessary permits and reporting incidents. The incumbent will collaborate with departments to optimize delivery schedules and address logistical challenges, including alternative delivery methods when drones are unavailable. Ongoing responsibilities also include participating in training, staying updated on drone technologies and regulations, and supporting the Head of Flight Operations in planning and refining strategic initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM or related field
- Must have either part 107 with three years of commercial aviation experience or part 61 certification. Certification under Part 107 for Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) or certification within three months of employment.
- Knowledge of Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Title 14: Aeronautics and Space.
- Understanding FAA Compliance and Flight Operations Policy.
- Must be current with FAA certifications.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Must be able to handle multiple priorities at one time.
- Must have familiarity with aviation systems with the ability to ingest multiple inputs and make critical decisions.
- Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions. The job requires being outside.
- Must have a valid drivers license and be able to drive an extended length cargo van.
- Must demonstrate they are a team player and can work well with others.
- The position will require lifting 70 pounds several times a week.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification under Part 61, flight instructors, and ground instructors.
- FAA Commercial and Instrument ratings for fixed wing or helicopter.
- FAA ATP (Airline Transport Pilot) fixed wing or helicopter.
- Advance RPAS or BASIC RPAS Canada.
- Additional training or certifications from recognized institutions.
- Knowledge of ASTM standards for UAS operations.
- Other FAA / ICAO certifications and aviation experience.
- Experience with beyond visual line of sight operations.
- Experience with RigiTech Eiger is a plus.
- Experience with detect and avoid software and hardware similar to Involi.
- Experience with flight applications UAS Traffic Management (UTM)
